Farang
What it means
The everyday Thai word for a Westerner. It is descriptive rather than an insult in normal use, and you will hear it constantly at any camp that takes visitors.
Tone carries the meaning, as it does with most words. Used flatly it means nothing more than foreigner.
You will also hear farang prices, farang sparring and farang classes as ordinary shorthand for the visitor-facing version of a thing.
