What it means
The puncher: a fighter built around heavy hands and low kicks, closing the gap to land power rather than to control. The style closest to what Western boxing gyms already teach.
Foreigners often arrive already fighting like this, because boxing is the striking most of us learned first.
The gap that shows up in Thailand is the kicking defence, since a punching style walks straight into the range where Thai kicks score.
