Can I get a fight as a foreigner?
Updated 2026-09-01
The short answer
Yes, and often faster than you should want. Camps with promoter relationships can put a willing foreigner on a local card quickly. The question worth asking is not whether you can fight, but whether you are being matched sensibly.
A camp that fights people regularly knows the local promoters, knows what weight and record you can safely be matched at, and will tell you when the answer is not yet. That last part is the signal to look for.
The failure mode is a camp that says yes to everyone, because a foreigner on the card sells tickets. Being matched against someone with thirty fights when you have had none is not a rite of passage, it is a bad matchmaking decision that you will feel for a while.
Ask specific questions: who from this camp has fought in the last few months, at what weight, against whom, and what happened. Vague answers are an answer.
Worth knowing
Fight promotion in Thailand is not uniformly regulated, and medical requirements vary between venues. Do not assume the checks you would expect at home are in place.
