Month 04 of 12
April
The hottest month of the year, Songkran in the middle of it, and the smoke still sitting inland.
In April, train in Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. Think twice about Bangkok, Isaan (Northeast) and Chiang Mai.
April is decided by heat rather than by rain. It is the hottest month almost everywhere and it is hotter inland than on the water, which is the opposite of the way the rest of the year runs. Bangkok in April is a city that holds the heat rather than releasing it overnight.
Songkran falls on 13 to 15 April and the country stops for it. What a specific camp does that week is a question for that camp and not something to assume from a calendar, so if those dates are the trip, ask the gym directly before booking around them.
The southern Gulf is the quiet answer. Samui and Phangan are in the last month of their dry window while the Andaman coast is coming out of its, which makes April the month the two coasts briefly swap places.
