Hua Hin Muay Thai School or Jaopahin Muay Thai

Two camps in Hua Hin, set against each other on what each one publishes about itself. Nothing below is our opinion of either.

Hua Hin Muay Thai School

The month above is the one session a day tier; two a day is 10,000. There is no week. Between the single session and the month sit packs, at 1,850 for five sessions, 3,500 for ten, 4,850 for fifteen and 6,000 for twenty, so twenty sessions and a month of one a day cost the same. Private coaching is offered as a programme but no rate for it is published.

Jaopahin Muay Thai

Every price is printed twice, once for children and once for adults. The figures above are the adult column. The child one runs 350 for a day, 1,000 for a week, 2,999 for a month and 7,500 for three months. Adults pay 10,500 for three months, and a pack of ten classes is 3,000 for adults or 2,500 for children, valid forty five days. A month at two sessions a day is 4,999 and is the one line with no child price beside it. Private is published as a range, 1,000 to 1,400 an hour for adults and 1,000 to 1,200 for children. The 450 above is listed as a one day pass but described by the gym as a single class. Group classes run an hour and a half. No room rate is published.

Against the country

Each line runs from the cheapest figure listed camps print for that rate to the dearest, with Hua Hin Muay Thai School marked above the line, Jaopahin Muay Thai below it and the stretch between them inked. In baht, Hua Hin Muay Thai School first, then Jaopahin Muay Thai: one group session at 400 and 450, 50 apart inside a run of 550 that 31 of 44 listed camps print; a month, unlimited at 6,000 and 3,999, 2,001 apart inside a run of 14,001 that 26 of 44 listed camps print. Rates only one of the two publishes are left out, because a line carrying one mark says nothing about two camps.

They quote the same figure on one line: takes beginners.

What we cannot tell you yet

Neither camp has been confirmed on the lines below, so this page does not compare them. They are named rather than left off, because a comparison that only shows the fields it happens to hold is the shape of a page pretending to be complete.

In their own words

What each camp is

Hua Hin Muay Thai School

A small Nong Kae gym that has been running since 2017 and publishes a plain price list: one session, packs of five to twenty, or a month at one or two sessions a day. Three coaches, named on the site, with the head coach credited with twenty years in the sport. Nothing is bundled with a room or a visa, so the month buys training and nothing else, which is why it is one of the cheaper months in the country. Suits somebody already staying in Hua Hin who wants to train daily without buying a package.

Jaopahin Muay Thai

A family gym in Nong Kae run by Kru Tum, who names his two assistant coaches and three of his fighters on the site. The timetable runs three adult group sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and two on the other three days, because the early evening hour goes to the children, and every class is an hour and a half. Every price is printed twice, once for children and once for adults, so a parent training alongside a kid can read the whole bill off one page. The month buys training and nothing else, with no room and no visa attached, and the gym is closed on Sunday. Suits a family or a beginner already staying in Hua Hin who wants a plain price list and a coach who is also the owner.

What people ask about Hua Hin Muay Thai School and Jaopahin Muay Thai

Every figure below is read off the two records at build time rather than written by hand, so a question neither camp has published anything behind is left out instead of answered softly.
Is Hua Hin Muay Thai School or Jaopahin Muay Thai cheaper?
Jaopahin Muay Thai, on the line most trips are booked on. A month of unlimited training is 3,999 baht there against 6,000 baht at Hua Hin Muay Thai School, a gap of 2,001 baht. They both quote one other priced line, and Hua Hin Muay Thai School is lower on one. A cheaper month is not a cheaper trip. Food, a room where the camp has none and the flight home all sit outside these figures, and a camp that is 2,000 baht dearer a month is the cheaper of the two the moment it saves you a daily taxi.
What is the difference between Hua Hin Muay Thai School and Jaopahin Muay Thai?
3 of the 4 lines both camps publish come out different: a single group session, a month of unlimited training and how many sessions a day run. They match on whether beginners are taken. Jaopahin Muay Thai publishes a week of unlimited training and a private session. Hua Hin Muay Thai School publishes none of those. What separates two camps on the mats is the trainer you get put with, and no camp publishes that. Use the lines above to cut the list down, then ask both.
Is Hua Hin Muay Thai School or Jaopahin Muay Thai better for a beginner?
Both. Hua Hin Muay Thai School and Jaopahin Muay Thai each read as a room somebody who has never trained can walk into. That is a call made at a desk from what each camp publishes about who it trains, not a verdict from the mats. A gym built around a fight team will take a beginner's money and leave them holding pads at the back for a month, so ask both how a first session actually runs before you book either.
How many sessions a day do Hua Hin Muay Thai School and Jaopahin Muay Thai run?
Hua Hin Muay Thai School runs 2 sessions a day and Jaopahin Muay Thai runs 3. That is how many are on offer and not how many anybody should plan on taking. A timetable says when the door is open; how many times you walk through it is most of the difference between a training holiday and a camp, and a first week of doubles is how people spend a second week injured.
How far apart are Hua Hin Muay Thai School and Jaopahin Muay Thai?
About 2.2 km in a straight line, measured between the two pins rather than along a road, so a motorbike covers more ground than that and traffic decides the rest. Both camps sit in Hua Hin. That is a ride rather than a walk, so trying both in one trip means picking a base and paying to cross, or splitting the stay in two.
