The short version

The week and month above are the twice a day tiers, which cover the whole published timetable; once a day is 2,000 a week and 8,000 a month. A day pass covering both classes is 600, and ten classes 3,500. The private above is the trainer rate: Master Chin is 2,500 a session or 22,000 for ten, against 800 and 7,000 with a trainer. Rooms behind the gym are priced by the week and the month rather than the night, from 500 a week to sleep in the gym itself, 2,500 for a bamboo hut or a shared aircon room and 3,000 for an ensuite, or 1,500, 8,000 and 10,000 for the same by the month.

Martial Arts Academy Koh Phangan

Every price on the site is stated as including seven percent VAT. The lines above are the Muay Thai pass, which also sells two weeks at 5,500 and ten classes at 4,000. Gold Membership adds every other class, the ice bath and the open gym for 1,250 a day, 5,400 a week and 12,500 a month. The private above is the trainer rate; a named head coach is 2,000 or 3,500 a session. Six months is 70,000 and includes gym documents for a visa application. Gear rental is 100 a session. The bungalows on the gym grounds carry no published rate.

Against the country

Each line runs from the cheapest figure listed camps print for that rate to the dearest, with Chinnarach Muay Thai marked above the line, Martial Arts Academy Koh Phangan below it and the stretch between them inked. In baht, Chinnarach Muay Thai first, then Martial Arts Academy Koh Phangan: one group session at 400 and 450, 50 apart inside a run of 550 that 31 of 44 listed camps print; a week, unlimited at 3,000 and 3,300, 300 apart inside a run of 3,700 that 21 of 44 listed camps print; a month, unlimited at 10,000 and 8,800, 1,200 apart inside a run of 14,001 that 26 of 44 listed camps print; one private at 800 and 1,000, 200 apart inside a run of 900 that 22 of 44 listed camps print. Rates only one of the two publishes are left out, because a line carrying one mark says nothing about two camps.

They quote the same figure on 3 lines: sessions a day, rooms on site and takes beginners.

What we cannot tell you yet

Neither camp has been confirmed on the lines below, so this page does not compare them. They are named rather than left off, because a comparison that only shows the fields it happens to hold is the shape of a page pretending to be complete.

In their own words

What each camp is

Chinnarach Muay Thai

Two two-hour group sessions a day, priced in two columns so one a day costs less than two. Accommodation is on the gym's own plot and sold by the week or the month rather than the night, starting with the option of sleeping in the gym itself, which is as cheap as training in Thailand gets. A private with the head coach costs roughly three times a session with a trainer, which tells you how the place is organised before you arrive.

Martial Arts Academy Koh Phangan

A multi-discipline academy at Woktum running two Muay Thai sessions a day, with a separate all-access membership covering the other classes, the ice bath and the open gym. If Muay Thai is all you want, the Muay Thai pass is the cheaper way in and the membership is not worth the gap. Three bungalows sit on the gym grounds without a published rate. It also sells a six month membership that includes documents for a visa application, which says plainly who it is built for.

What people ask about Chinnarach Muay Thai and Martial Arts Academy Koh Phangan

Every figure below is read off the two records at build time rather than written by hand, so a question neither camp has published anything behind is left out instead of answered softly.
Is Chinnarach Muay Thai or Martial Arts Academy Koh Phangan cheaper?
Martial Arts Academy Koh Phangan, on the line most trips are booked on. A month of unlimited training is 8,800 baht there against 10,000 baht at Chinnarach Muay Thai, a gap of 1,200 baht. They both quote 3 other priced lines, and Chinnarach Muay Thai is lower on 3. A cheaper month is not a cheaper trip. Food, a room where the camp has none and the flight home all sit outside these figures, and a camp that is 2,000 baht dearer a month is the cheaper of the two the moment it saves you a daily taxi.
What is the difference between Chinnarach Muay Thai and Martial Arts Academy Koh Phangan?
4 of the 7 lines both camps publish come out different: a single group session, a week of unlimited training, a month of unlimited training and a private session. They match on how many sessions a day run, whether there are rooms on site and whether beginners are taken. What separates two camps on the mats is the trainer you get put with, and no camp publishes that. Use the lines above to cut the list down, then ask both.
Is Chinnarach Muay Thai or Martial Arts Academy Koh Phangan better for a beginner?
Both. Chinnarach Muay Thai and Martial Arts Academy Koh Phangan each read as a room somebody who has never trained can walk into. That is a call made at a desk from what each camp publishes about who it trains, not a verdict from the mats. A gym built around a fight team will take a beginner's money and leave them holding pads at the back for a month, so ask both how a first session actually runs before you book either.
Can you stay at Chinnarach Muay Thai or Martial Arts Academy Koh Phangan?
Both. Chinnarach Muay Thai and Martial Arts Academy Koh Phangan each say on their own site that you can sleep at the camp. Neither nightly rate is published, so the room line stays blank rather than get estimated off camps elsewhere that do print one. Staying in means the commute stops being a decision you make twice a day at five in the morning, which matters more than the saving on most trips shorter than a month.
How many sessions a day do Chinnarach Muay Thai and Martial Arts Academy Koh Phangan run?
The same number. Chinnarach Muay Thai and Martial Arts Academy Koh Phangan both run 2 sessions a day. That is how many are on offer and not how many anybody should plan on taking. A timetable says when the door is open; how many times you walk through it is most of the difference between a training holiday and a camp, and a first week of doubles is how people spend a second week injured.
How far apart are Chinnarach Muay Thai and Martial Arts Academy Koh Phangan?
About 2.2 km in a straight line, measured between the two pins rather than along a road, so a motorbike covers more ground than that and traffic decides the rest. Both camps sit in Koh Phangan. That is a ride rather than a walk, so trying both in one trip means picking a base and paying to cross, or splitting the stay in two.
