Camp against camp

Suwit Muay Thai or Tiger Muay Thai

Two camps in Phuket, set against each other on what each one publishes about itself. Nothing below is our opinion of either.

The short version

A week of unlimited training is 3,000 THB at Suwit Muay Thai and 5,500 THB at Tiger Muay Thai. They line up on 6 of the lines both camps publish.

Suwit Muay Thai

The week is six days, twice a day. Training plus a fan room at the gym for a month is 11,500 and an air-conditioned room by the pool 14,500, with electricity billed by the unit; two meals a day adds 3,300 a month. Private training is sold by the week at 6,000 or the month at 18,000 rather than by the session. The rates page still carries 2015 exchange rates, so check it is current before paying.

Tiger Muay Thai

Tiger adds 7 percent VAT on top of every figure here, so budget above these numbers. The week and month are the all-inclusive option covering any class in the camp. Muay Thai only is cheaper at 4,400 a week and 13,500 a month. The single session, and a full day pass at 1,000, are drop-ins sold at the camp only. The room is the cheapest standard room and a month is counted as 30 days.

Against the country

Each line runs from the cheapest figure listed camps print for that rate to the dearest, with Suwit Muay Thai marked above the line, Tiger Muay Thai below it and the stretch between them inked. In baht, Suwit Muay Thai first, then Tiger Muay Thai: one group session the same at 500, inside a run of 550 that 31 of 44 listed camps print; a week, unlimited at 3,000 and 5,500, 2,500 apart inside a run of 3,700 that 21 of 44 listed camps print; a month, unlimited at 9,000 and 16,800, 7,800 apart inside a run of 14,001 that 26 of 44 listed camps print. Rates only one of the two publishes are left out, because a line carrying one mark says nothing about two camps.

They quote the same figure on 4 lines: one group session, sessions a day, rooms on site and takes beginners.

What we cannot tell you yet

Neither camp has been confirmed on the lines below, so this page does not compare them. They are named rather than left off, because a comparison that only shows the fields it happens to hold is the shape of a page pretending to be complete.

What each camp is

Suwit Muay Thai

Long-established Chalong camp with a traditional Muay Thai focus and a track record of putting foreign students into local fights. Suits people who want a clear path toward competing rather than a fitness holiday.

The full record for Suwit Muay Thai

Tiger Muay Thai

The largest and best-known training complex in Thailand, running Muay Thai alongside a full MMA and BJJ programme. Big enough that you can always find training partners at your level, and structured enough that a total beginner is never left guessing. The trade-off is scale: it feels like a fitness resort rather than a Thai gym, and it is priced accordingly.

What people ask about Suwit Muay Thai and Tiger Muay Thai

Every figure below is read off the two records at build time rather than written by hand, so a question neither camp has published anything behind is left out instead of answered softly.
Is Suwit Muay Thai or Tiger Muay Thai cheaper?
Suwit Muay Thai, on the line most trips are booked on. A month of unlimited training is 9,000 baht there against 16,800 baht at Tiger Muay Thai, a gap of 7,800 baht. They both quote 2 other priced lines, and Suwit Muay Thai is lower on one and one comes out level. A cheaper month is not a cheaper trip. Food, a room where the camp has none and the flight home all sit outside these figures, and a camp that is 2,000 baht dearer a month is the cheaper of the two the moment it saves you a daily taxi.
What is the difference between Suwit Muay Thai and Tiger Muay Thai?
2 of the 6 lines both camps publish come out different: a week of unlimited training and a month of unlimited training. They match on a single group session, how many sessions a day run, whether there are rooms on site and whether beginners are taken. Tiger Muay Thai publishes a private session and a nightly room rate. Suwit Muay Thai publishes none of those. What separates two camps on the mats is the trainer you get put with, and no camp publishes that. Use the lines above to cut the list down, then ask both.
Is Suwit Muay Thai or Tiger Muay Thai better for a beginner?
Both. Suwit Muay Thai and Tiger Muay Thai each read as a room somebody who has never trained can walk into. That is a call made at a desk from what each camp publishes about who it trains, not a verdict from the mats. A gym built around a fight team will take a beginner's money and leave them holding pads at the back for a month, so ask both how a first session actually runs before you book either.
Can you stay at Suwit Muay Thai or Tiger Muay Thai?
Both. Suwit Muay Thai and Tiger Muay Thai each say on their own site that you can sleep at the camp. Tiger Muay Thai prints a nightly rate at 1,000 baht. Staying in means the commute stops being a decision you make twice a day at five in the morning, which matters more than the saving on most trips shorter than a month.
How many sessions a day do Suwit Muay Thai and Tiger Muay Thai run?
The same number. Suwit Muay Thai and Tiger Muay Thai both run 2 sessions a day. That is how many are on offer and not how many anybody should plan on taking. A timetable says when the door is open; how many times you walk through it is most of the difference between a training holiday and a camp, and a first week of doubles is how people spend a second week injured.
How far apart are Suwit Muay Thai and Tiger Muay Thai?
About 1.4 km in a straight line, measured between the two pins rather than along a road, so a motorbike covers more ground than that and traffic decides the rest. Both camps sit in Phuket. That is close enough to walk, so a trial session at each one inside a single week costs you nothing but the drop-in rate.

Every figure on this page came off a camp’s own website. Suwit Muay Thai was read on 2026-09-02 and Tiger Muay Thai on 2026-10-14. Camps change prices without changing the page the price is printed on. If one of these is wrong, or if you know a line neither camp publishes, tell us and we will date the change.
